when everything carbon fiber started hitting the scene they either made these in carbon fiber or a carbon fiber patterned vinyl was placed over it...

this same piece can be found in faux carbon fiber on the new c320 sport

i've heard sash trim also, but i bet if you go to honda and ask for a new sash trim, they wouldn't know what the hell you were talkin about. i also bet that if you ask someone to order you a cf sash trim, they will replay, "a what??"

oh yeah, to answer this question, arospeed actually makes a high quality piece:

Carbon Fiber Door Pillar 96-00 Honda Civic 2dr $274.70

These carbon fiber door pillars replace those ugly black plastic ones found on both the driver's side and passenger's side of the car. They are currently available for 96-00 honda civic 2dr/3dr and 92-95 honda civic 2dr/3dr (coming soon). Available in a full 100% carbon fiber construction.

Okay, I just looked at the box mine came from Honda in. Mine is for the right door and the description reads as follows:

GARN, R. DOOR SA

I'm almost positive when my mom picked up the part from the dealer, she asked for "sash trim" and we got the correct piece. Perhaps even Honda isn't sure what to call the damn things.
