Default What to do with 9k and an EG?

Just like the title says, what would yuou do with $9000 and a stock EG. ANd before anyone says, do whatever YOU want, not what someone else wants, I am only doing this to get ideas. In the end, I will make a decision based on what I want.

buy a swap, nice suspension and keep the body stock... Make it into a sleeper... I kinda want to make my project into a sleeper now, in fact thought about that today... Y waste money on looks when u can go fast??? Too bad i bought my kit already... Good luck

B20Vtec. All motor or FI your choice. Goal would be 225-250 @ wheels. Reliability rules.
Hondata ECU.
Some really nice full racing coilovers.
Benen tie bars, and rear bars.
Carbing 3 point front strut bar.
Suspension Technique or ITR sway bars with Beaks kit.
A nice big brake setup.
Two sets of light 15 or 16 inch wheels, maybe Kosei K-1's. One set with Kumho 712's or MX's for daily driving, and the other with Victoracers or Hoosiers racing slicks.
A tire trailer and a hidden hitch for transporting tires.
Maybe a carbon fiber lip, duckbill and hood.
A nice set of reclinable racing seats.

That should do it.

I'll have a Civic hatch and 9 grand this summer, so here's my plan. I'm not going to get the turbo stuff until I practice my dragging with the B18C1 for awhile. I might get a B16 or a b18/b20(I wouldn't need to headgasket or camgears with the B18 or B20) to save a little cash, though. I'm going to pretend my imaginary 5th gen hatch is in good condition on the outside.....
B18C1 Swap 3500

Cam Gears 200
K&N Cone Filter 50
Inline Pro Turbo Manifold 400
Some type of T3/T4 Turbo 800
Custom Downpipe 200
Custom Exhaust with 3" Apexi N1 Muffler 400

I went over a little with a B18C1, but I'll be well within 9k with a B18 or B16. Plus I'll have constant income coming in before I go ahead and get the turbo setup, so I'll still have enough cash for the whole thing. The onlt problem with this is that I'm in college and can't afford the broken axles/clutches/engines/transmissions that come with this. I'll probably end up with a built N/A motor, more realistically.

ok man...here's the thing that I have come to realize with my hatch.

Yes, it's fast (13.8 on steelies). I was only worried about the motor when I bought stuff.

1. Handles like a big piece of **** on ice.
2. All the dings and scratches add up to make it look like that piece of ****.
3. Yeah, I knew what I had under the hood but it didn't make up for the car looking like a piece of ****.

Don't let your car be fast and look like a big piece of ****. Maybe that's what you want. So be it. You may dig it at first and like, "I don't give a fugg, I'll smoke you," but it'll get to you eventually.

If I could do it again I would have fixed all the dings and scratches on my hatch, put in some black side moldings, and repainted it.

EDIT: I'm not talking about bodykits and dubz and ****. just a clean, nice car.

I would get a 91 GSX but their are outside factors that prevent me from doing it. I have to get a airbag, becuase my parents are buying the car for me because of the schlarship cash I got. If my dad was cool with the DSM's (he doesn't like em at all because one of my friends had a 11 second one, and he knows how fast they can be) I would never even consider a Honda.

I would get

1.Engine swap say JDM GSR motor-with say I/H/E-for now
2. Coilovers and the all the bars
3.15in -say Buddy club P1's-with A032R's
4.Recaro SPG Driver seat
5.Mugen style Front spoiler and Spoon style Rear spoiler-trying to keep prices down
6.if money left buy some gas so i can drive the car

and thats all i can think of for now

First consider your local smog laws before doing any swaps. Im in California, so my hopes were pretty much dashed when I actually looked into smog laws after deciding i wanted a b20/vtec....back to the drawing board on that one. I would definetely suggest a motor swap - what one depends on what you are looking for (daily driver, track, strip, etc...). You cant go wrong with a good ole' JDM b18c w/LSD. Definitely buy some Tein HA's to lower your center of gravity, rims, lip kit, bolt-ons, a little ICE and your on your way.

you guys have a weird idea of $9000. Full custom turbo setup, motor, racing coilovers, seats, brakes, 2 sets of wheels?

I actually have $9000 and a civic hatchback with no motor in it and that $9000 is going to buy me a jdm b18cr, header back exhaust, $500 paint job, buddy club coilovers, and a single, non reclinable racing seat, with a couple hundred left over for unexpected problems. I can't even afford to buy real wheels for it. Sure, its cool to think that you can build the ultimate street car for $9000, but it ISN'T going to happen. Also, the prices I listed are the lowest prices I can possibly get, and I'm doing ALL the work except the paint by myself. I'm sure half or more than half of you can't install a turbo on a car, and thats big $$$ there, plus tuning time.

So to the guy who asked the original question, start off simple, think of what your priorities are. Do you want a really nice car for auto-x? Then you should look into good tires, suspension, and light wheels. Do you want to drag race? Than maybe the turbo motor is a good idea, and all you need is some coil over sleeves with heavy springs in the back and ome drag slicks in the front. Are you building a fast car for the street? Than you'll probably want to invest some money into looks, i.e. carbon fiber pieces, wheels, body work and do some minor suspension and drop in a motor. Just please factor in the costs of labor (if applicable) and keep some money on the side after everything is done, because whether you like it or not, something WILL go wrong, whether small or big. Just make sure you know what you're getting yourself into, because I've seen quite a few of my friends go in over their heads and it's not good. . .

GSR swap with ITR rods and pistons
some good good suspension some p1 race rims with some grippy tires

or GSR swap ITR rods and pistons, some street/strip headwork, a lovely cam
some 1000lbs springs in the rear 650lbs up front some bogarts with slicks

take the 9K and buy another EG save 1 for daily driving and have the other built into a race car

i'm in the same position white 92 cx hatch, just bought from "d c 2" for a reasonable price

new windshield
new driver side mirror
get rid of odd smell
find 3 more HX wheels, spray paint black, or just get some rotas

for the fun stuff... can't wait

get an itr swap, nice suspension, better FD. some good wheels and tires. and you should still have some cash left over for i/h/e. i dont quite remember his username, its like b18c-eg2 or something. he has a kickass setup.
