What civic hatch to get???
hello all im new here and i am relatively new to civics in general. i always liked how they looked and the stance they ahd but never knew which one to get. but after doing some research i fint that i am in over my head for what i am looking for....
so now i stumbled upon this marvelous website and came asking for your guys help. i was told that the civic hatch i should get was a Ej but i dunno how to find one in the usa? i have seen the Si the ex dx hx and other ones but never an EJ. so what car an i looking for? and i want one that comes with about 125-140hp stock with vtec if possible. the car will stay relatively stock for about a year with only mods being exhaust intake headers and throttle body and the slight cosmetic mods(ie lip kit rims and tires and coil overs and struts).then after that maybe a light turbo pushing maybe 12psi max.
so what care would you guys recommend ?? i dont want to get into swaps right now because i dont have any space available to do it.
Well thanks a lot you guys for any help that you can give me! and sorry if i might **** some one off by postin this. i dont mean to but i dont see where else i can post it.

The hatchbacks are CXes and DXes. CXes are all hatchbacks, but DXes also come as coupes and sedans.
The CX (3dr), DX (2/3/4dr), LX (4dr) and VP (4dr) all come with the D16Y7, which is a 1.6L SOHC non-VTEC engine. They have 106 hp.
The EX (2/4dr) comes with the D16Y8, which is a 1.6L SOHC VTEC engine. They have 127 hp.
The GX (4dr) comes with the D16B5, which is a 1.6L SOHC VTEC engine that runs off of compressed natural gas (CNG). They should have about 127 hp too. The GX is VERY rare. Rare enough you have probably never seen one.
The HX (2dr) come with the D16Y5, which is a 1.6L SOHC VTEC-E engine. They have 115 hp.
The Si (2dr) comes with the B16A2, which is a 1.6L DOHC VTEC engine. They have 160 hp.
All trims were sold from 1996-2000 besides the GX, which is available as a 1998-2000, and the Si, which is available as a 1999-2000.
Here's a thread which will help you figure out which trim you would like better:

It honestly has to a lot to do with where in the country you're buying the car from. DE sells them for cheap... but the hatches are very rare to see there. WA sells them for more and they're everywhere, but they're more popular too.
Start checking around locally, in the paper, Cars.com, AutoFinder, Craigslist, eBay, etc.
