what car do you think i should get..?
okay.... i have like 6 or 7k to spend on a car... 8 pushing it, and I know i want a honda civic, but I can't decide on what kind.... Like, i dont know the pros or cons on the 92-95 or the 96+, or whats better, a coupe or a hatch... Like I'm leaning towards a hatch, because i just personally think they look better and are a little different in my area... but I dont know. jeez... Basically I just want your opinions on what car to get with that money.. I'm only 17, so I dont make enough money to get like, engine swaps or anything like that, but just give me your personal opinion on what to get, and dont flame me for being indecisive about what car to get, all hondas are good hondas.

if you like hatches, definitally get one. they are lighter than coupes, and better balanced.
as for years, 92-95s are lighter, and cheaper. but, 96-00 looks so much nicer (IMO), but they have about 100-200 pounds (depending on trim level) on the 92-95 hatches. just look at all years, decide which one you like better.
i am also 17, and got my car 3 months ago. its a 2000 civic cx hatchback. took me forever to find a white one for cheap but i did it

get a 92-95 hatch, dat someone has already done a swap in it.. i see them go for like around 6000 to 8000 sometimes.. dat way, u'll have a nice hatch that is already done for you..

i definitally wouldn't buy a swapped hatch, unless i knew the previous owner.

Okay, so I'm sold on the hatch...... but now its just the 92-95 or the 96+ thing... hmm... gr.... lol..... other than weigh is there ANY other diff? if there isnt one, i'm just gonna buy whatever the next person tells me to. lol

Also, as far as body mods (i think this is going to make everyone happy) I just want my car to look different than a stock hatch at a dealership, but I don't want any riced out body kits or 18 inch rims.... Do you know any websites with jdm products...
and please bare with me, i'm extremely new to hondas, but what exactly is spoon? thanks in advance.

I have both hatch and coupe and I personally think the coupe is better for a daily driver. Power everything, nice moonroof. But if your into stripping out your car and gutting it comletely, go ahead and get a hatch.

Get a 96-00 Hatch or a 96 Coupe. Those would be in your price range. I bet you can pick up a 96-98 Coupe with alot of miles (Which dosn't matter if your doing a swap) for around 6-8.

personally i would get a 92-95 hatchback or if you want EK then i think 99-00 because they look so much cleaner from the front. also that way you can get some OEM fog lights which will make the car look sexy and help you when legally racing depending where you are and what time you race. i had a 98 dx auto coupe before i bought my 92 si...make sure you get manual...i know they rarely make hatchbacks in auto but make sure you get manual...much better in gas and in fun...make the car clean...don't put JDM parts on it because it's JDM or came from Japan. do your own thing...welcome to the board. you will learn a lot

go for what you can afford. If you are going to have to take out a loan or pay it back, then definatly go as cheap as you can, you will be happy you did later!(more money for aftermarket goodies.)

not too bad...i paid 10 for an 00 VSM CX with only 23000 miles on it. this thing looked like it had just rolled off the finish line...then it went through one NE winter...WTF! the week before i passed on a red 98 dx with 46000 for 8 grand...thank god for patience.

I would go w/ a 99-00 hatch, I sold mine and still hate myself for it, I loved that car, they look so damn good.
