what can i do to get the most power out of a d-17 motor w/o using forced induction?
what is the best thing i can do to get the most power out of my 03 civic lx (non-vtec). so far i have a cat-back exhaust and a cold-air intake. i know headers will ad a little bit more but what else is there? just port and polish?

I would just say save your money for the engine swap in the future, d17 is a crappy designed motor and without forced induction, I would think even mini me would whoop you pretty bad. Once people start putting in K series or B series in those things then they will start moving.

No VTEC, no power, no hope. That engine is an incredible contraption if you bust a chubby over gas mileage and thermal efficiency, but if it's performance you're after it's better to call it a day and start with a better platform.
