What to buy with $250
A friend of mine has a 99 civic Si. He has an intake, header, exhaust, and vetec controler. He just purchased a light weight flywheel and new clutch and still has $250 left to spend. He asked me what he should do next, since i drive an itr i wasn't sure what to tell him so i am asking you guys for advice. Thanks in advance.

Why modify your car for the sake of modifying?
If you're going to do anything to your car, you should save yourself tons of money and develop a plan. This is what separates rice cars from well setup cars.
Tell him to buy his girlfriend or mom something nice and in the meantime figure out where he wants to go with the car.

Why scratch your *** for the sake of scratching your ***? Because you can. By no means does buying parts to modify your car just cause make you a ricer. There's always little things to do before stepping up to the big plan.

I respectfully disagree
I've NEVER see anyone with a tasteful car ask themselves "where can I spend another $250?" But that may just be me - I almost never see tasteful modified cars to begin with
tell him to go buy some clear tail lights or buy some stickers then

It's cool. Personally I always sum up how much money I have to spend and like to think if there's anything I need for my car. But that's just me.

You guys are funny! Well he is definatly not a ricer so clear tails and stickers are out of the question. I forgot to mention he allready has a set of coil overs. Right now he is just looking to get a little more power out of the car.

Re: What to buy with $250 ([VTEC]TL)
I would say some timing gears and some dyno time.....
Put the mods already in place to good use, then save up for better cams or turbo stuff. Personally I am saving up for some del sol seats so i don't hit my head driving in autocross......

Was just asking for advice bro. I have helped my friend out plenty in the past. He just wants to go a little faster in a straight line, i want to go faster through the turns and in a straight line so the mods that i have done to my car and and have suggested for his car will do him no good.

I HATE when people overuse the term ricer. That term is soooooo played out it isn't even funny.
To the original guy - how about dumping the power steering pump - it will net you more HP throughout the entire RPM band than any other bolt on mod AND it's free. I haven't had PS on my civic since the day I bought it

I agree. Another thing that you have to consider is that i drive an itr, and most itr owners including myself leave the apperance of the car pretty much stock, except for maybe some different wheels and a JDM front end. Other than that a crap load of stickers and an assortment of clear lites and lite up this and that is out of the question, and yes it pisses some people off to hear the term ricer used, but oh well some of that **** is just riduculous looking even on a nice civic.
