I suggest you look at the following to help you decide:
- Price
- Specs (power, torque)
- What's needed to swap it into your chassis (you might want to look at certain year ranges)
- Local laws (some states or counties might not allow the CRV engine, for example)

wow you are lucky that u even get to choose between these motors lol. some people have to settle for B18b/b18a non vtec. if u have a high budget, get a JDM B18C type-r.

Re: what b series should i get
i really think a thread like this should be a FAQ because it's asked all the time
to answer you question though, don't waste money on a b16 a or b, go with the larger displacement and it will pay off in the end....b18c5 is obviously the best REPLACEMENT swap besides a kseries. but the b18c1 is also a very good swap. if you are looking for something cheap then go with a b18b and turbo it or you could also do an LS/b20 vtec which is a build and swap combined
all depends on what you want out of it....personally though I'd go with a b18c1 or c5 and go from there, at least you'll be starting with a good reliable base line

He didn't. It was an example of why an engine might be a poor choice depending on local laws.
Another example is that in some states law enforcement might be more likely to enforce laws against older engines in newer cars.
You really should check country--wide and local laws at least before swapping an engine into your car.

PA is the same way as long as it'll pass emissions in most of the counties, however I live in an emissions exempt county so i'm free to do what i want lol...word off the news is PA might do away with the emissions testing completely just because of the fact the state sees no revenue coming from it

I found a b20b at the junkyard yesterday it was in a honda Orthia the intake manifold was shorter than the ones in the CRV's, SM-X's & Stepwagons just the racist Japanese owner wanted $1000 for the engine just because I'm American

Just because something's "allowed" doesn't mean it's actually legal either. I see plenty of cars driving around without a third brake light, but it's not legal. It just depends if anyone cares and sees that car with that equipment.
I'd rather play it safe (or make it really easy to make everything at least temorarily legal in the event you need to be inspected anywhere).
