What available ecus 4 99-00 ex(d16y8)
Hi peeps, i was wondering, i have the stock motor for a 99-00 civic ex(d16y8) with stock wiring harness. is their any other stock honda ecus that would plug and play with my setup?????

well i was just curious what types of obd2b ecus would fit? and maybe i could better v-tec or more power???? any info would be great guys. does any one know what ecus they are???

Eh, there really arent too many options with plugging in different OBD2 ECUs for obd2 cars. You cant chip OBD2 computers, therefore making them an unlikely choice for any tuner.
Think of it this way... the OBD2 EX ecu (p2p) has a 5700 VTEC crossover with about a 7200 limiter... where as a P28 (92-95 1.6liter SOHC VTEC OBD1) has about a 5200 crossover and a ~7400 limiter. In better terms... an earlier VTEC crossover with a higher limiter, see where im getting at?
Your only other option would be a VAFC controller, but even there you should have some form of tuning experience before messing with settings on your motor.

I had a feeling that's what you were aiming for, and to be honest, you'd just be wasting your time and money on another OBD-2 ECU. Yours is designed for your specific engine. If you modify your engine, you could then benefit from installing a chipped OBD-1 ECU and having it properly tuned.
