Well, my motor has gone to heaven....
Well, last night wasnt too fun for me.
Last night i was at commmerce to run my car. My goal was to hit 13's. My first run of the night i got 13.9@101mph. I was really happy about it and decided to keep going. My next runs were 14.2, 14.0, then 18.0(missed 2nd and drove normal rest of the way).
So i decide i'll do one more run to try and hit 13.9 again or better. I lanch, its good, i go into 2nd and get on the gas, and all hell breaks loose, its sputtering really bad, smoking like crazy(smoke was coming into the car thru the airvents).(i thought i might be on fire somewhere).
So i coast to the end, get it back in the parking w/ help of some friends who were there(thank god). Matt helped diagnose what happpened and took the valve cover off. We took the spark plug out of #1 and its 1/2 missing, and theres a hole right thru the center of the piston. I got it towed to my work and im using a co-workers beater car to get me around town unti my car is back working.
I need to decide what to do. I know i dont have enough $$$ to fix it. So im most likely going to part it out, and put a stock motor(D16Z6) back into my car and sell it.
I just want everyone to realize that going fast has its consequences and it will catch up sooner or later, and this was my time it looks like.
I will have pics up as soon as we get the head off, they wont be pretty.

What motor/setup? Sorry to hear the bad news...
does it look like there's any damage to the cylinder walls or is it just the piston?

Sounds like more people than just me had a bad weekend for their motor. Anyways, sorry to hear about it man. If it is something that is fixable, then you should do that and keep the car. I don't know about you, but I personally wouldn't just give up and sell my entire car because of something that happened with the motor. Good luck and keep us updated on the outcome

Didn't you want a CX hatch anyways? I don't know why. Yeah the Si has the weight problem but nothing can beat the way the Si looks coming down the street w/ the sunroof popped. Just my opinion. Good luck on whatever you choose to do. I admire you and Tom and all you guys who keep up the N/A tuned ITR motors. For some reason I love those motors better than any other built setup. The motor is stout from the beginning. You built a great car, I know you w/ the help of all those knowledgeable homies can build another clean ride. Thumbs up to all the TRUE import enthusiasts in the ATL. You are the guys that keep the young ones like me striving for the best. Keep it up blykins, Tom and any other ATL import enthusiasts if you read this. KEEP IT UP!!!
