actually there was quite a debate over it of course i cant find my topic about it now... but they all wanted me to post the info when i got it... im pretty sure its a 1.6 looks just like a D16z6 except for the engine code and the writing on the timing cover (only parts Ive inspected so far.. heh it just showed up 5 minutes ago..

yeah we doubted at first...then we did some research, and found out there is a shitload of engine types that bear the ZC code.

I had a ZC sohc vtec about 2 years ago. It is a 1.6 motor just like the D16z6. Pull off the head and look at the pistons and you will be in for a surprise.

JDM sohc vtecs with 130ps came as follows;
D15B sohc vtec = just like USDM d15z1 + D16z6 head
D16A sohc vtec = found only on a JDM Civic coupe, auto (shipped from ohio)
ZC sohc vtec = found on JDM Domani (generation before 1.6EL (canada), came with it), identical to D16Z6
all three came in two generations, 1st 92-5 and then in 96-00 as in second generation. most obvious is the intake, as well as few other changes

No, there are two versions of the ZC, the SOHC and DOHC. I was thinking about getting a head shipped down from Canada. However, finally ended up going Z6 instead...

There are alot of different versions of the jdm zc. there is a sohc twin carb engine, a dohc brown valve cover, a dohc black v-c for the 88-89 integra, a dohc black v-c for the 88-91 civic, a dohc black v-c for a 92-95 civic, a sohc vtec, and then just a sohc non vtec(which is basically a 88-91 civic si engine)

Re: Well kiddies there is a SOHC Vtec ZC engine.. (poison)
Here's a question: My friend blew his engine in his 89 integra ls, so he picked up a jdm engine labeled zc. It was carberated and when we went to hook it up, a few of the coolant plugs that were on his ls engine were non existant on the zc. His engine light was on the whole time he had this zc and ended up blowing it up after about 3 months for lack of cooling reasons cause of a cracked radiator...moron. Anyways, what gives with the missing plugs at the back of the block? Anyone have an idea? This has a straight swap as far as nuts and bolts, but sensors and hoses were another story completely.
