That was def a good find, I thought I got a good deal when I bought a del sol, the guy said that the t belt broke, but it was just the plug wires were wrong. Good luck!

A lil preview of the bling treatment (sorry for the cell pics).

What the sparkplugs looked liked. Gap is suppose to be .044 and they were, on average, around .080! And it ran good! Can't wait to drive it w/a tune up!

A mess.. Rewiring my cd player. Took out the craptastic Clarion and stuck a Pioneer I"ve had for like 7 yrs in it. 5th car it's been in and still plays awesome! And yeah, there was a lil bit of spare change that had fallen behind the console :S Shame it wasn't quarters because I hate pennies!

I also thought it was weird you had to remove the parking brake to get the part of the console around the cd player out.

And for a random pic.. A picture of a Gopher Turtle that was on the road. I had to do my duty as a nice person and safely escort him across the road, but not after getting a couple mug shots.

Camera Shy He was a lil guy too, they usually are rather big (20+ lbs). Actually, now that I think of it, they are a protected species and I probably broke a law by touching it. Don't report me H-T.

Moar pics coming soon!

Damn, if you think I've done very well on this, then you'd jizz on yourself if you looked at my Integra project thread! This won't get NEAR the love and attention Aeris (my Teg) has. Though, I'm thinking I"m really gonna like driving this, so that may change.

Problem is that I have another project thats was to be started directly after I was finished with my Integra: I have a 1988 GT 5.0 Mustang that I'm doing a swap in and it's gonna be a drag car (I'm bigtime into drag racing). So I dunno if I can juggle both.
-----------------------------------

Christmas in May! My waterpump and timing belt came in.

Thats The Green Goblette (or just Goblette for short), my Parrotlet. Awesome lil pet She was checkin out my timing belt, making sure it was ok (she was trying to eat it, so I assume that means yes? I dunno).

Here's the picture that was on the instructions. I may be wrong, but I don't think my engine looks like that I wonder how many pple have flipped out because they thought they got the wrong pump because of the picture AND the instructions (good thing I knwo hwo to put one on... I kid, never done it before.)

I'm happy i read over them, I'm sure I would have injured myself if it wasnt for this stunning piece of advice.

Thats right, NEVER REV your engine with the hood up. Because a rod could fly out and smack you in the face

N00bs.

And I went to Huddle House last night and mnn MNNNNN t3h hashbrowns hwere DELICIOUS!!!

I'll start on t3h waterpump when I get off work.

Alright, no pics (dropped my phone, now the screen doesnt work ) but I've got some stuff done.

Waterpump hasnt been changed yet, as the crank pully bolt is determined not to budge. So I'm arranging to get an impavt to zip it off.

So thats as far as I am there. I did put the thermostat and the radiator back in, so thats good.
-----------------------------

I bought a main relay today for it as well as the 2 pieces of weatherstripping I need to replace so it doesn't leak. AND I snagged some OEM Del Sol floor mats for $5.00!!!!!!

Very sweet. Need a lil cleaning, but they should clean up good.

I also got some very nice information. I noticed out at the junk yard one of the cars had a quarter of it cut out. I asked the guy who owned it how much that would cost on the Sol: $125-$150.00. I have access to a body man who could cut and replace the panel, so I may end up actualy fixing Jelybean up pretty good! They have a nice door and fender out there too.

We'll see.

Moar updates later. I MAY have it running this weekend.. I dunno.

Well I've had some problems in swapping the water pump.

Problem 1: Alot freaking smaller than my Integra: More cramped. To be expected (it's a smaller car) but it's a big change for me.

Problem 2:
More crap! You've got a freaking lil mount that, from my memory, you don't have to worry with on the B series. Oh, and there was one timing cover bolt that was horrible. Took like 10 mins to get off. I threw it into the neighbors yard across the street when I FINALLY removed it.

I did however, swap out my weatherstripping and Jellybean no longer leaks! Yay!!!

Dude that's a sick f**kin' deal. I wish I could come across deals that good. I always leave feeling like I spent too much when I buy a car.

Good stuff!

Well, I've got nearly 100 miles on her now. Aside from a stupid lil stutter/hesitation it has, everything is great. You can just barely feel it when yoru accelerating. More annoying than anything really.

I swapped out the spark plugs hoping that would fix it. It seemeed to help, but it may just be a placebo effect, I dunno.

I was gonna charge the AC this weekend but ran out of time so next weekend I'll see if I can get the AC working.

If I can that would be so awesome.

I'll snap some at lunch. It's overcast, but they'll be somethin. Gotta vacuum her again, as she got dirty from crawling around when I was installing the speakers. I did pressure wash the engine bay so thats nice N clean now.

OHOH, almost forgot.. I'm going to take a few dimensions and see if I can't fab me a sub box for a 10".

For your information, I work as a Draftsman at an aluminum fab plant, so I make alot of my own stuff.

Pics. Shame it's such an overcast blah day. I hate days like this.

Here's how I found her...

And this is how she is now

Engine bay is a lil cleaner than the last time you saw it.
Here's a before:

After: (Be sure to note the gold bolt bling )

This dang sticker won't come off. Gotta get some goop off or somethin. I ride with the window down as long as it's not raining

My old skool Pioneer. I have to burn some regular, NON MP3 cd's. Crazy. For t3h inquiring minds, the song playing is " My own summer (Shove it)" by the Deftones.

Now for t3h bad.

Such a shame. I"ll fix her up though! I"ll get good interior pics when I get her cleaned up (again). I took dimensions (rough) for my box, gotta figure the airspace now and see if my speaker (JL 10W3D4) would sound good in it. Prob just need some el cheapo weak sub. Since it woudl be in the cabin with me, that would prob do t3h trick.

We'll see.

yep, looks better in pics Passenger side of the car is super great... It just sucks the driver side is so bad!

I've got a couple options on fixing the quarter panel. I'll try and get some of that dent out soon, maybe this weekend.
