hey whats up new here, will be posting up a build for to show everyone my car, but got a problem now. All of a sudden a weird scraping noise kinda, not really a scraping its a hard sound to describe, kinda like the sound of an aftermarket intake kind of too. and no i dont have an aftermarket intake on, and the car is stock completely. it has been happening when in fourth and fifth gear. when i press the gas it makes the sound but it seems to be only in 4th and 5th gear, fourth it sounds slightly louder. it does not sound like it happens in any other gear, or when its in neutral only 4th and 5th gear when i hit the gas. i cannot figure out what it is, i did a scan and no codes came up either. its so frustrating i cannot figure out what it is any ideas? everything seems to be working fine but this is just killing me to figure it out. help asap please. need to get this fixed!!

possible bent shift linkage, or sloppy bushings. sounds strange but it does happen. to me that sounds like what you are describing, try to get a video up if you can. also no transmission codes will be present for a manual transmission, as it is not computer controlled.

Is the clutch slipping?

no clutch is not slipping, sometimes when i go to put it in reverse it doesn't always go, sometimes i really feel like i have to slam it in to gear. and idk if i video will get the sound its faint but ill see if i can

Is the MTF low? You might want to start by draining the MTF and replacing it with genuine Honda MTF.

but if the mtf was low wouldnt it happen in every gear?

I HAVE THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM! We need to find out what it is, I have this WORD BY WORD man. I know EXACTLY the sound, it's like a light scraping but not really bad enough that it sounds terrible, just very faint and in the background, almost sounds as if your belts just had groves on them that makes a sounds as they spin.

I ALSO have problems shifting into reverse, same EXACT thing, sometimes it just won't go into reverse and I need to keep trying. Sounds like we gotta find a solution, thank you for posting this up I meant to but didn't get around to it! Hope it's not too big of a problem..

It's so easy to check the MTF level so why not try it. Low or old MTF could explain at least some of the problems.

did a trans fluid change, and nothing was fixed. still makes the noise, so any other ideas? the sound is kind of like a slight scrapping sound a kind of ckussssssshhhhhhh but only happens when the gas pedal is pressed and only in 3rd 4th and 5th gear. its so hard to explain the sound and taking a video or recording is impossible to do.
