Weird brake noise!!
I just got a 1992 civic cx. I was driving it around today and i kept hearing this weird scratching noise. Like finger nails on a chalk board. Its only coming from the back and makes the noise when just driving normally. I have nooo idea what it could be. I was thinking like the drum brakes were bad, etc. If anyone has any idea that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Re: (Nader_D)
time to change your brake pads. the sound is the metal indicator on the pad rubbing against the rotor telling you to change your shiznit.

Thanks. I never knew that there was a noise for the drum brakes but now i do Its weird because i wil hear the noise on then off then on then off. Its really annoying. Id like to go with some rear discs but ill have to wait and see if i can find any. Thanks again!

sorry man i didn't even think about drum brakes. i have no idea if there are wear indicators on drum brakes like there are on disks. there probably are, though.
so i official don't know what the noise is

hahaha, i figured you were talking about the disc brakes. Thanks for the help though. I do need new pads for the front though. Anyone else might know what it could be causing? I have miata wheels on my car but i found out one of the wheels are bent so i put a 13" steel on there so maybe my car is lop-sided or something. Could this be the noise im hearing??
