Default Water Loss

Ive got an overheating problem on my 93 DX with a D16Z6 swap. I noticed it was over heating one day so I checked the resivoir and there was no water in it. So I popped the rad cap and put water in it. It took ALOT of water and then it didnt overheat at all for like a month or so. Then it did it again I added water and it took ALOT again. Now it needs water on a daily basis or it starts to overheat. There is no smoke or anything... Help me!

It has to be either burning it or leaking it. Do a leak down test.

i have the same problem. just happens about every 2 weeks. my case seems to be a headgasket, because the water is like brownish/orange, so i think the water and oil are mixing

Sounds like a head gasket.

What do I have to do to fix it?
And should I just let a shop take care of it?

It depends how much experience you've had working with cars. If you have no idea how to do a timing belt then yea take it to a shop. It'll cost more but at least it will be done right the first time.

How much do you think it will cost?
