Default VX Block off Plate on CX Hatch

Alright, well i just purchased the block off plate for my Hatch. My question... Do you pull the entire Antenna wire out? I just cut it off and used electrical tape to tape it in the A-pillar so it wouldn't rattle around. (not like I don't have enough) Obviously this isn't the "correct" install but it will work until it gets warmer. Thanks for your advice.

Do you have a part number and a price for that piece?

Yes, the part number is 39152-SR3-A00 Pricse is $3.68. Don't make them talk you into getting the gasket, because you already have one. I'm stupid and got one too . If you want the gasket though that part number is 39154-SR3-G01 and the price for that is $4.02 Here's a pic.

When I did it I pulled the enitre antenna, and antenna wire and got one of those "Metra" antennas that mount on the windsheild. Most people go that way, the metra just plugs into the antenna outlet so you do want to pull the OEM antenna cable out.

Do I just yank as hard as I can? I think I'm just going to stay radioless... I like my CD's

And to help the EK owners, I found the plate in the Speaker Mounts/ Brackets section for the car. Search there.

I unpluged it from the radio, and cut it right near the hood release, then just yank the crap out of the antenna and pull the rest of it from behind the radio. Putting the metra or another antenna in is really easy, just plug in, splice to a positive key-activated acessory (like the cig lighter) and then route the wire to the antenna through the A pillar. Plus the metra antenna is a lot better than stock crap.

dont do that because everytime you use your cig. lighter you will get feed back going to the antenna causing it to work poorly...trust me I have that done and I have to re-wire since whenever I charge my phone I get shitty reception, and I also noticed that sometimes it shuts down the amp in my radio, weird but true!!!

I work at Honda and a 92 CX w/ 76,000 miles on it came in yesterday. It had the Radio block off plate and the antenna block off plate. A 70yr. old lady was driving it. It was in perfect shape. I had a boner.

So my question is, which Metra antenna are you guys replacing the stock one with? I want to get rid of my "whip" Honda antenna and go low key but still want to listen to the radio.

I dunno but I just got an idea. What if you taped the wire to the body, wouldn't your whole car act like an antenna (this may be a dumb idea that obviously doesn't work, but I just woke up)
