Re: vtec wiring (AkuCivic)
This is the short (or long) of what you have to do. Because you smartly own a 92 Civic (I have a cx with a b18c1 swap) your car is PRE-WIRED for VTEC. This makes everything much much easier (all 92 civics are prewired).
You'll have to research for specifics (ie. the pin outs on your ecu), bc I ran my wires a while ago and used a different engine/computer, but bc you're prewired you only have to run three wires (all engine side of the harness that connect to the ecu side) to set up vtec.
You have to run a wire from the knock sensor (my swap had this, i would assume yours would) to the correct point on the engine side of the wire harness so that it connects to the pin out on the car side of the harness, which runs to the ecu.
Then, you have to run the secondaries (IAB wires). Run one ground wire from the ecu to the IAB valve (red/blu wires), and give the other wire (blk/yel) switched 12v (these are what you might call your VTEC wires). When I say the switched 12v or ign I am referring to the ignition/power coil.
For reference the IAB valve is a 2 wire plug right under the intake manifold if you come from the drivers side (this is on the b18c1, hopefully its similar with d-series vtec engines). This is how it works: the ecu controls the valve by grounding it or not, there is a wire going from the ecu to the valve.
The other wire going to that two wire plug is a 12v switched(ign)
Should run the blk/yel wire from the IAB vave to 12v power(ign only) and the red/blu wire to the ecu terminal "IAB SOL".
you need to find the obd1 p__ ecu (whichever you said you had) pinout for the "IAB SOL" and connect the red/blu wire to that.
I hope this information is clear enough and helpful to you. You can find the appropriate computer pin outs on honda-tech or other online sources. Much of the information that I have forwarded to you is copied verbatim from an IM conversation with H-T user 2G0S0R1 on 1/4/2004, so also thank him for this info.

Re: vtec wiring (jlsmi2)
also, as you'll note after clicking on the link in the previous post it says something like 92s are prewired so just click the back button.
---follow my instructions, but you might be able to get the proper pinouts for your p28 "mini me" swap from that link. Remember all of the wiring that that post is describing is for a 93+ civic that is not prewired for vtec.
You need to run the two IAB wires (blk/yel to the 12v swit/ign coil // and the red/blue wire to the engine side of the harness where it matches up with the appropriate wire from the correct computer pinout point). You MAY have to run one wire (that connects to the red/blu) through the firewall to the correct ecu point and connect it to the computer with the ecu clip (as seen on the mini me wiring page), but I'm not sure if you even have to do this.
Again, you also have to run the wire from the knock sensor to the harness to connect to the ecu.
