Default vtec solenoid harness question.

I took a 1.5l sohc engine out of a 95 del sol and put a 1.6l vtec in is place. how do i activate the vetc solenoid? I also used the intake manifold off the 1.5l and put it on the 1.6l will that effect the vtec system?

Youll have to wire VTEC straight to the ECU, Including the VTEC solenoid and the pressure switch. And probably a knock sensor.

You need a different ECU to properly run your new 1.6. What year of Del Sol are you doing all this to? You'll need to find the ECU that matches the OBD version of your car. Or you can buy a OBD1 P28 and buy a conversion harness if your Del Sol is 96+.

After you find your correct ECU, you'll need to run wires from your oil pressure switch, and vtec solenoid (and maybe some other things) right through the firewall directly to your ECU.

No converting necessary. Buy an OBD1 P28 ECU. They came in the 92-95 Civic (Canada Si) (US Ex). This ECU is made for the 1.6 Vtec motor.

vtec ecu, run wires for knock vtc and vtc pressure switch

or you could toggle switch the vtec soleniod and be rearry gangsta...
