VTEC questy-o-neh
Alright, so i have never heard VTEC before on a DOHC motor. Today i was test driving a 99 SI with a B16 and when VTEC kicked in around 5k or whatever, it was sooooo loud inside the car. Is that normal?! I mean it sounded like it was coming from the lower right hand side of the engine bay. It was just so loud inside. All the car has is a CAI and a stage 2 clutch i think. Anyway, i was just wondering...thx guys

Yes it's normal. Aftermarket intakes amplify the sound a lot, so that's why it was so loud to you. A stock airbox would still allow for a noticeable change in sound, but it would be significantly quieter.

Re: VTEC questy-o-neh (GMRboy)
i do love it...it made me wet. I think i soiled my pants on the test drive. There was a friggin huge *** straight away behind the dealership...usually for those WRX's to open up abit ya know....but i punched it in 2nd then 3rd and before i knew it, i was cruisen around 80-90. But yeah that sound and kick is muy bueno.
Not to mention my civic now is a goddamn slushbox
