Default vtec controller

ok, so i jst recieved a vtec controller the other day. i was wondering if i get my p28 chipped and tuned, would that pretty much make the controller useless because vtec would kick in at 5500 instead of the 5800. i have a 00 si. but also, i havent really seen anyone use a vtec controller lately. do they really help? i know all it does is that it makes vtec kick in whenever you want, but is it worth having. i got the controller for free and i havent installed it, so im jst seeing what peoples opinions are on it.

not to be a dick but by your question, it means your not use to running one.....they can help you alot or they can royally screw you.... if your going to tune your motor i wouldn't run one... because your going to try and tweak it and mess everything up with your tune........... my opinion

if your getting your ecu chipped out then there is no reason you should install the vtec controller it would be a waste i went throught the same problem i bought one for nothing just sell it since you got it for free

in my opinion just sale it and get your motor tuned and call it a day. thats why people tune there motor's. plus playing with a v-afc can really screw you ,if you tune it wrong

would a 94 gsr ecu be good to tune (p72 obd1) with hondata s200? Or what would you guys recommend since i was thinking of getting the "apex neo." I'm not going for major tuning right now since i'm stock, but maybe later down the road and i don't want to waste my money and regret it later.

if you plan to build your motor for anything n/a or boost, . i would get it and call it a day if you have the money to get it and tune it.

I wouldnt recommend s300 too $. dont get me wrong its by far very good and a must have if your looking to make high power but if your in the 180-230 range then crome/ s100/s200 etc. would work wonders so would other tunning options, just my 2 pennies
