increases wear because your in the higher rpm range alot.... increases fuel consumption... but increases Fun... may increase oil consumption also if you seem to have that problem

no vtec will not hurt your engine, but if you are in high rpms, like everyone has already stated the engine has to work harder so it will cause more wear.

Vtec in itself is not bad. As many others have said, higher rpms = more wear.
Think of it this way, cruising speed 2500-3500rpm. High wear and tear 5krpm-7krpm. Essentially you're wearing your motor out atleast twice as fast. Due to the added stress I an guarantee you it's significantly more.

Not necessarily. The engines were designed to rev, and designed to handle high RPM. If they've been maintained well, it's not going to make a noticeable difference to even worry about it. I've been running synthetic oil in my car, run it on multiple track days, hit VTEC on most every shift, and spend most of the cars time in the upper revs. 100K miles, and I'm still running factory spec compression.

Driving your car hard = BAD
Burnouts = BAD
Street Racing = BAD
Nitrous = BAD
Turbo = BAD
SuperCharger = BAD
Seriously, all these fun things we do are all bad to our cars in one way or another. You bought the darn thing to drive it and you are here on ht because you enjoy the driving experience.

I heard it makes you ask stupid questions on the messageboards.
Actually, it's a very good question. Most people don't know it, but if you hit VTEC more than 12 times in one day your car implodes, killing every living being in the universe. From the sounds of it, you might not be up to the responsibility of posessing such a dangerous tool.
