Vtec
Wassup dudes so I recently put new pistons in my 99 civic y8 Everything went good broke it in for 500 miles then gave it a oil change and decided to check out the vtec solenoid to see if there were any metal shavings there weren't too many so I cleaned it before testing out the car soo when I went to test it and it felt good the only problem was that the vtec wasn't working checked to see if the solenoid was working by using a wire from the. Artery to the sensor and it worked it was clicking indicating that it worked and the wiring is good as well because before the rebuild it was working fine so I took the vtec solenoid and the bottom piece on it to check if I messed up on something and everything seemed fine the plunger and everything seemed fine if gots any suggestions let me know !!!'

Re: Vtec
What do you mean by "not working?"
If there is any active code keeping the CEL on, VTEC will not work.
If you can take it up to 6000 rpm and no VTEC code is thrown, it probably is working.
