VIS cf hood + b18c = help!
first off...i searched...so search vultures....kick back
anyways, i just got a VIS cf hood and the fitment is just really odd....
problems are....
1. one of the predrilled holes dont want to line up properly
2. hitting the valve cover (b18c)
3. bc of 2 resulting in the hood not wanting to shut completely.
4. seems to be hitting on my radiator cap on my C&R.....errr?
i have no trouble at all with my stock hood....
i've searched and read that people either raise the rear with washers or special bolts, adjust the rubber bumpstops, adjust the latch, cut or sand away the skeleton where it is hitting....or a combination of.
some of the remedies are simple, but i just want to know if anyone has pics of how they modified their hood (skeleton).
where to get those "special" bolts that raise the rear, instead of extended bolts and washers.
i have no clue on the hole alignment, but if you have had that problem and have fixed it, please give me yo advice...
thanks

Yeah you have the latest version of the VIS with the two bulky CF support rails on the underside of the hood, don't you?
I was lucky and got the second gen hood without those bulky supports, because the one you have hit my VC too.
My friends have just taken a drimmel and cut a notch in the support brace and they've had no problems.
Also I punched s few new holes in my rubber trim piece and used superglue to hold the clips in, so the trim looks OE.

I had to cut out the parts of my hood that were hitting the valve cover. The hood did not have any problems after being modified.
I spent literally hours making the hood fit just right. And it ended up taking hood pins to make it fit how I wanted

i've never had to modify a vis cf hood for any honda. this is odd. does your vis hood have the "VIS" plaque riveted to the underside of the hood?

yea i sell cf hoods too. i sell the vis hood, and i also have another version which has a different underskeleton that doesnt run above the valve cover. that way it clears all swaps.
no cutting required

Again there's only like one VIS hood that i know of that requires cutting to fit, and that's the newest version of the 1992-1995 civic hood if the car has a B series swap.
Trust me it has nothing to do with the car itself, because my front end is 100% perfect and the older VIS hood fits perfect on it.
I saw the manifest/shipping receipt from VIs for the hoods that didn't fit - they're definately VIS hoods.
