i have a 95' civic dx coupe...and lately, i've noticed that when i'm just sitting in my car and holding my shiftknob...i can feel the vibration from the engine getting stronger and then gets softer...i know the shiftknob is suppose to vibrate a little, but it's weird how i can feel it get stronger and then goes down to normal....does this affect anything in the engine?? i don't have a tach in my car yet, so i wouldn't know if the RPM is going up or down

Does it do it when warm, lights turned on....gimme some details to work with, yO. When you first start the car does it do it? Did you check your motor mounts for cracks (hairline or other)?

yea, it happens when i turn on my car...but it will keep on going for a little while...yea, i checked my motor mounts, it's fine...the vibration isn't very noticable..unless you set your mind to it. just wonderin if i should be concerned about this...and it's been pretty cold outside lately, could it be the weather also?

well.. since you dont have a tach i am gunna ask you if your car seems to be idling a little higher at start up ..??like does it sound like it is reving higher??? check your temp gauge.. go outside start up the car and watch it....if it idles stronger when the car is cold and it stops when it is at normal running temp then its nothing to worry about its just your engine trying to get warm.. lol ... usually in the cold weather my car will go between 1200-1600 rpms till the engine warms up then it will idle around 750... its normal for hondas.. hope i helped you somewhat..
