Very Noobish Question About Front Grille
There was a topic in here a few weeks ago about putting a CTR grille in a 98 Honda Civic. After seeing some of the pictures of the DIY stuff, I have decided to go this route. Why? If it looks good, I saved some money, if it looks like crap, I was planning on buying a CTR grille anyhow.
I have a 98 Civic Ex. Can someone tell me how to take the front grille off, or direct me to the proper authorites? One guy said he did it in two hours from taking it off to putting it back on complete, so I'm thinking it will take a little longer for me, but I have no problems with that. I have all the tools I need, but I would prefer doing this without taking off my front bumper.
My other question is, since the outside of it is faux metal, how should I go about painting it? I will be going to Home Depot to grab some multi-purpose mesh anyway and maybe rattle-canning the mesh black (or buying black mesh to begin with) so I can grab a little paint while I'm there for the outside of the grille. My car is the stock white, Taffeta white if I'm not mistaken, so what paint should I get that would be close (or exact) in color and would be resistant to the elements enough to stay looking good for a long time? And how exactly should I paint the fake metal part (spray, roll, paintbrush, 1, 2, 3 coats, sanding, anything and everything)?
Again, sorry for asking such noobish questions, I'm just hoping I could do something with my hands on my car that I could be proud of... Everybody has to start somewhere, right? Thanks in advance.

Re: (datssoled)
if the car is stock and the bumper has never been taken off, then u most likely will have to take off the bumper to get the grill off. its pretty self explanitory, just look at it and u will see all the screws that need to be removed
