verrrry poor time :(
I ran the other night...a pitiful 18.12 was the best I could do with a 2k automatic ex coupe. I didn't have time to take anything out of the car(including my sub box), but an 18.12?? My engine is stock, should I give up hope, or is there something wrong with my car? What kind of times are you other d16's getting?
I did beat a 71 chevelle though

ahhh for a stock ex with an auto tranny, i'd guess thats about right, what were your 60' times, i won't disappoint you and tell you why the chevelle didn't beat you.

Re: verrrry poor time :( (Robster)
I dont remember my 60' times, and they werent givin out slips. I wasn't loosing traction though, I know that. I was power breaking at ~1.5k. I know I beat the chevelle because it's a straight 6 not a 350 Oh well "winning is winning". sorry, kick me for f&f reference.
I'm not too worried...a b18c or a lancer evo7 is in the works.

yeah..man..u should be able to pull 17s atleast.....trust me...just work on it..and u said you were power braking at 1.5...try a little bit higher...try like at around 3...it might be a lot better..but im not sure......i drive a 2000 civic EX manual transmission....umm..i ran last fall with an AEM CAI, DC 4-2-1 header, and an exhaust with custom 2.25 piping....down the strip with a 16.8 at 82.18mph and this was on my 17inch wheels..he he....my 60 foot time was 2.514and my reaction time was a .609...just keep trying trying what you are doing..and you'll find the groove...just don't neutral slam it no matter what!! LOL LOL LOL here's a pic of my babie...
My two cents,

Re: verrrry poor time :( (Sohc Driver)
I too remeber my first time at the track in my car. Basically stock (intake and exhaust) 95 EX on bald asstires best I could pull was 15.7. And that was only because the track was in really good shape (first event of the season = VHT). Looking for 13's this season.

Re: verrrry poor time :( (X DaNish X)
Hey my automatic was able to pull a 0-60 in 8.5 secs . and I be running a automatic EX with Intake and exhaust . Yes I know a automatic you ask . well what can I say I wasn't thinking the day I bought it . But I do what I do with what I gots . Plus the car is nothing more than a hold me over for another year . So it will be gone soon . So for now I can atleast fool around with it and then sell the parts when I get rid of the car .

8.5 isn't that unbelivable for a EX.
Anyway. 96 how long have you live in Statesboro?? Do you go to GSU?? I went there for 2 years. (the last 2 years they won the I-AA).

HOW THE HELL DID YOU PULL A 15.7 with a EX coupe with only headers and intake?????
really, that just doesn't seem feasable to me.
did you take out your interior? a/c? p/s????? that time just doesn't sount right.

Re: verrrry poor time :( (ahcjar103)
I'm completely serious that's what it ran. The backseat was removed which when looking back probably saved me maybe 4 lbs. lol, other than that everything was how I described it. Here's proof from my buddies website (he was at the track that day) http://www.k-oticracing.com/may01.htm Pics don't seem to work any more (which is probably for the better since my car looked like *** not ricey, just stock). Time is on the bottom BTW pay no attention to the specs, that is for the motor that is currently in the car (hence it says "B16A in the works) I was building it at that time and he added it in for some reason.

I ran 16.5 @ 86 MPH on my auto EX, check the sig for the mods, but not to fear an engine swap is near.

Before I was turbo, in my '95 EX coupe with I/H/E on stocks with only the passenger seat and spare out, I ran a 15.6 many times. My best run was a 15.553 @ 90.29 MPH. Just my experience with bolt-ons on a SOHC.

Somehow this:
doesn't fit in with:
JFWY man, no harm intended.
civicdisobedience - If you're serious about going faster you should ditch the auto tranny. Since your car is almost new, you might as well sell it and try to buy a car that comes with a manual from the factory.

Don't ever underestimate the power of an SOHC VTEC

Re: verrrry poor time :( (JST BCUZ)
either you people can't drive, or you cars are dirt slow, i raced a 92-95 hatch an EG in everyone elses terms, and he had a jdm b16 he couldn't pull until 3rd gear , though barley and i have a stock 98 EK (hatch) DX 5 speed with some extra air it's slow but u people can't drive

Re: verrrry poor time :( (JST BCUZ)
My friend has a 2000 DX coupe manual, bone stock except some tie bars and an AEM CAI and his best run was 16.9, and then our other friend decides he wants to try out the DX coupe and he gets a 16.8, and he's never driven the car in his life!
I can also tell you that I have a 1997 hatch literally bone stock and when I race that very same DX coupe I am actually ahead of him by maybe a foot or a little less and then the AEM gives him more top end power and he kills me after about 80miles/hr which is right after the quarter luckily, so with a good reaction time from the start I beat him!

HAHAHA...loosing traction and automatic honda shouldn't be EVER used in the same sentence.
