Vapor lock? 94 Civic EX
So I've had this problem on and off for the past year and a half. I would go to start it and sometimes would just click and nothing. starter passed test, battery passed test. It only did it when it was hot or if I just got gas, i'd have to sit for like 20 minutes until it started. I replaced the fuel relay and the fuel filter and the problem stopped for like 3 months and then just out of no where my fuel pump made a weird noise and then died so I replaced that and everything has been normal until the past couple days. its been really hot lately so im turning my attention to vapor lock as a possible issue but other then that vapor canister thing on the firewall I have no idea how to troubleshoot this issue. doing research I've heard of injectors fuel lines all kinds of things. its my work vehicle so I need to fix this asap. anybody had this issue before?

update:
out of no where the problem disappeared, then returned a couple days ago. it hasn't been any hotter out, if anything we've had more stormy weather. only happens every once in awhile but this last time left me trying to start for a good 10 minutes. at night. im gonna start checking the ignition side of startup. distributor cap, wires, and spark plugs. suggestions? I have no idea if im on the right track... it so far always just starts up out of no where and runs fine.

Are you absolutely sure that All the connections to the fuel pump are good with no corrosion? A weak ground is likely to cause that.
Did you buy a good quality fuel pump, or the cheap one from China?
My first fuel pump I replaced I got the cheapest one from Autozone. It had intermittent issues like that. Now I'll only get OEM, Walbro, or Denso.

Re: Vapor lock? 94 Civic EX
I believe I bought the airtex fuel pump for $130. unfortunately at the time I couldn't even shop around, the pump went out on me at a gas station during my lunch break. I had to push it out of the way of the pump, get a ride after work, and replace it in the gas station parking lot lol. I have been stretched for funds and live in an apartment complex so towing it wasn't really an option. other than some dirt built up there wasn't any corrosion but, this car is used, took it florida and back, Oklahoma and back multiple times, I wouldn't be surprised if a ground was loose or bad to multiple climate changes.. ill look and update. my only argument for the cheap fuel pump is the no start problem had been happening for a year already before the fuel pump went out.
