Valvetrain upgrade and valves, and tranny popping out of 3rd gear.
Two questions here.
I plan to upgrade the valvetrain on a GSR head for a GSR engine to run some aftermarket cams (maybe Crower stage 2s) when I get the money. Assuming the stock valves are ok, should I still replace them or no? Will the stock valves function correctly, are they a bottle neck to making power? The car will be daily driven, naturally aspirated and running between 10 and 11.5:1 compression. The ony mods include I/H/E along with the cams. Honestly I don't understand when to replace valves aside from if you bend or burn them.
What would cause a transmission to pop out of 3rd gear when you let off the gas. I just did a swap on a Civic and dropped in a Civic EX tranny. When I accelerate it's ok, but once I let off the throttle, it comes out of gear. I have a short throw shifter and polyurethan bushings. We were having trouble with getting trans lube in.
Any help will be appreciated.

The first part, i wouldnt change valve if you not going get a valve job or go oversized. They should be just fine and shouldnt restrict anything, comparing them to another stock sized replacement that is.
The second part, i would lean towards a bad motor mount somewhere that causing the motor which would pull the trans out of gear

Thanks, I'll keep the stock valves then.
I'll check out the mounts, but I didn't have any issues before. Any other ideas?
