Valvetrain upgrade (cams)
i just bought an em1. i want a little more performance with some internal upgrades but i want to keep my bottom end stock. would stage 1 cams/ctr with a stock valvetrain and cam gears make a noticeable dif? or should i get stage 2 cams and new springs retainers and seats? also can my stock axles hold the extra power. also i will be adding an apexi vtec controller and i/h/e.
if this needs to be posted in all motor please move. i really wasn't sure where to post.

cams will make a noticable difference if it is tuned right, if not you could lose power. as far as the stock axles, they will never hold up to the torque of a cam'd b16, you better get some 500hp dss axles. not trying to be a dick, but i just had to give you some **** over that your stock axles are fine

If you are talking about skunk2 cams, the stage 1 cams are not much different. I'd go with skunk2 stage 2, but you should get an intake manifold, as well as itr retainers, some springs, and valves. Also, looking into bumping up the compression may not be a bad idea.
But with not tune, the cams are usless.
