Valve tap issues need clarifying...
I was listening to my motor today and it seems to me that the valves are tapping. A mechanic confirmed that the noise is in fact the valves and that they may need adjusting. The motor is a 94 B18C. He said they need adjusting but from what i understand the valves are hydrolic and cannot be adjusted the typical way with a feeler gauge. Am i correct in saying that? If so can you adjust hydro valves at all?

No they are not hydraulic valves.
Check you timing, check valve adjustments using a feeler gauge. I believe it's .006 for exhaust and .007 for intake.
If all shows good, then do a compession test to check for bent valves.
