Default Using d series harness on b series .

So i have a 1998 honda civic dx hatchback . I bought it with a jdm zc with toilet bowl intake manifold they call it . Im curious if the harness would plug and play into the b20b high compression. Change distributor ,altenator and ecu. Im sorta confused .

It isn't a plug and play affair, but it IS the way that you do this swap. You will modify a few clips, move a few plugs and lengthen a few items.

Not much, just the distributor, crank sensor repin. I believe the a sensor relocation is needed. Other than that you should be good to reuse the harness. This is if you plan to stick with obd2a ecu and have obd2 parts.

Tony, remember that the '98 DX has the upward facing throttle body in the middle of the intake manifold (toilet bowl ??? that's funny), so the TPS, MAP, and IACV plugs are in a totally different place... not to mention that the IACV is a 3-wire and the OP will need a two wire on the B20B.

Absolutely, but for the first timer, it may appear a bit daunting. You and I have done a few... so we see it as a simple modification. Ultimately, this is NOT a "plug-n-play" solution as the OP asked.

Also depending on the ecu you use and if it’s truly the high compression b20 and has a knock sensor you’ll have to add the wiring for it. If you’re in North America and your engine is using the the CKF at the crank you’ll need to add or bypass that unless you’re using a JDM ECU. Also the B20 uses an intake manifold mounted intake air temp
sensor so you’ll need to either convert to that plug or out the OBD2 sensor into your intake arm.
