USDM Engine Suppliers
Hey everyone, I got a 2000 EK and I had put in a 99 SIR2 B16a awhile ago. I'm looking to do things the right way, so I'm looking specifically for a 2000-2001 B18C1 or 2000-2001 b16a2. Does any one know any engine suppliers that can supply me with USDM motors. It's been difficult searching the junk yards and most of the engine suppliers here in southern california. The problem is they only carry JDM motors, and JDM motors are currently on hold with the state of california and cannot be BAR'ed at the moment. I'm seeing if anyone can help me find those two specific motors and if they know any USDM Honda engine suppliers who can help, thanks.

Re: USDM Engine Suppliers
It seems like USDM engines are almost impossible to find, and the ones that are around have a million miles on them. I suppose the main reason for that might be the availability of cheap JDM engines.
Anyway, your best chance of getting a USDM engine might be buying a car and pulling the engine out of it. You could probably find a car with a salvage title fairly cheap.

Re: USDM Engine Suppliers
WHOOPS, typo, but I'm sure you what what I meant, current year or newer. Been searching all over the forums for the past few months, but its rare that a 2000 gsr or si motor pops up. Main reason why I'm trying to get the car BAR'ed is because I'm leaving for medical school in several months and I won't have time to fly back to get smog related issues in the first few months I'm away, will be too busy studying for board exams to worry about that. I will have to rely either on my dad or brother to just drive it down to the smog station, get it smogged and store it away again....therefore, NOT having a legal engine is not possible...looking for a smog hook up while being away in med school is not possible and my brother and dad won't feel comfortable doing that. Buying a car is not feasible right now and pulling the engine lol...I won't be making money until after medical residency in several years.
