Urgent Help Needed with diagnosing EM1 civic SI problem
Long story short, we are doing a road trip, planned on using the s2000, everything wont fit, so we have to use the Civic... Next week!!!
Background: Car was stolen, various parts taken, several of which were in the engine bay, insurance put it back together (or so they say). It's a 2000 SI.
Issue: Every time we drive, it smell horrible and the smell gets in the cabin. We, therefore, have to drive with the windows down. I checked the entire exhaust system from the head back, and found no leaks. The smell is weird, not really a burning smell. The closest smell I've found is when I take the oil fill cap off while the engine is running and smell hot air that comes out. Basically, it smells like hot, but not burning oil.
Other detective work: After searching around the engine bay for a while, I've noticed 4 places where it looks like theres a clip to hold a tube or vac line or something, and there is nothing there. I'll try to get a pic.
Additional info: The oil level did not drop noticeably in 1000 miles. No oil drips in parking the parking spot. Only smells when running, or just turned off. Oh, and no CELs

is the black box still behind the motor with all the lines connected? evap can or what ever its called.? make sure u dont have a leack from ur cat.. ? do u have a cat.. sometimes when u dont have a cat it smells like exhaust in the car..

If you put the front end on stands and crawl under the engine, do you see any oil that may have dripped on the header, exhaust pipe, or cat?

I got elbow deep in the engine bay under the intake mani and found out a line pulled out of that box. Thanks a ton!
