URGENT HELP: any oil is better than no oil at all right?
car details: EG hatch , manual , 499,000KMS (kilometeres)
im swaping my engine very soon to a b16a, i just need this one running for another 3 weeks.
its a d series engine the 1.3Litre "breeze" engine its carburated.
im in australia, im sure u guys dont have those there in america.
anyways my car is runing very sluggish all of a sudden and the oil light kept turning on . On idle its like its about to die.. well it has done nearly half a million KMs..'
decided to check the oil level this morning and to my surprise.. theres no oil in there at all.. yeh amazing how long these engines last..
anyways i checked around my garage for spare oil..
i came across these two
this one has only a bit left
and the other one is for a four stroke motorcycle which has about 2.5Litres left..
my question: can i put this oil in my D series engine and will it last me 3weeks?
or should i just leave it running as it is with harldy no oil at all..

Is it hard to buy oil over there? I wouldn't start the car again until you put some correct oil in there.

says additives, so maybe its like to thicken the oil, like high mileage oil. either way, it should make it 3 weeks. it may not run the best, but itll run. check it very often. any petroleum lubricant is better than no lubricant.

just put the motorcycle oil in there. I doubt your going to be using the "breeze" anymore.
For extra kick, put some in your spark plug holes and have a smoke show too

Re: (gapergurlie_18)
I ran my 87 Jetta on water for a few weeks.
It had a blown HG, and I kept having to drain the oil since the crankcase kept overfilling with antifreeze. I stopped using oil, since it was getting expensive. Then stopped using the Prestone, since that was getting a bit expensive too. A little water in the crankcase and radiator, and it was good to go until it burned away.

Re: (EG-SI(rII))
Really though a Honda engine in good condition will run for many miles on any sort of oil, and even no oil at all. Just use whatever you have until you find a better option.

are you really that cheap to go out and buy 4 qts of oil? That engine took you so far..and that's how you are treating it?
Put some kangaroo's oil in it instead.
