upset with ls integra
I was and maybe now am not going to be putting in a b18b motor into my eg hatch. Me and my bro raced a ls integra up to 3rd gear and he did not even pull a car on us. I have a dx hatch with intake and exhaust, the kid has intake and exhaust as well. I even had my heavy box in and just filled up with gas. The reason for all lof this is I am now discouraged with the motor as my slow *** car was keeping up with it.
People who have done this swap please let me know how you like it. I wanna here you experiences.

Re: (c1civic)
Yes that is true, but with my box out of the car and having maybe a 1/4 tank of gas I think I could have taken him. Plus we raced up to third and that is when everyone says the gsr will really start to spank the ls in a race. I was just not happy with it.

hatch is lighter. integra is heavier. you're one person driving. he's a different person driving.
you should realize that there's common sense involved

Oh yea I left my common sense back at the gas station when I filled up . I know the weight makes a difference. I just exptected more out of the motor. I was planning on going ls turbo but not untill next year, and that may never even happen so I wanted a motor I could be happy with if I did not turbo the biotch.

You have to go with the b18b now that you've already selected your user name
If you do go b18b, you should give thought to boosting.

lmao, That was good but does anybody have one in their hatch that can give me there input on it if they like it or suggest doing or not doing the swap.

The B18B will make more power and WAY more torque than the D series engine, especially across the entire rpm range.
If you find an LS swap for cheap you should go for it. They are versatile engines, and their only weak point is the tall geared tranny.
A nice set of cams and a B16A tranny make the LS quite a powerhouse, and of course a turbo set-up is always an option as well.

Re: upset with ls integra (B18C5-EH2)
That does help how much does a gsr tranny go for cuz I will probably turbo later but the b16 has to short of gears for me ( lots of freeway driving). If I find one how much should I spend on it.

GS-R tranny isn't all that great IMO. Not even for mild boost.
If you must have a low rpm for the highway, buy a B16A/Type R tranny for the short gearing and then throw in an LS 5th gear - best of both worlds.
Complete LS swaps can go for as much as $2,200.00 or so, but again i'm talking the best-case scenario from Import Auto Salvage with low, low miles. So complete it comes with uncut radiator hoses, complete exhaust manifold, catalytic convertor with o2 sensors, etc.

Re: upset with ls integra (B18C5-EH2)
i have a LS swap in my Del Sol and i love it
i run arouind a 9.5 1/8th mile and it dog the **** out of it and it constantly asks for more. I have 93 GSR YS1 tranny which has slightly shorter gearing than a B16 tranny and it is a blast. when i had this combo in my hatch i coud run in the low 9's (high 9.1 is my best time) but since my Del Sol weighs soo much more i have lost time .
Oh, btw all i have is I/H/E and i can drive

i have a 99 civic hatch and i got a full ls swap for $200 so i could not refuse it i havnt put it in yet but i cant wait. the clutch and fly wheel need to be replaced but i am just going to find a b16 tranny to but on it. any ways an ls in a hatch is awsome and makes for a quik fun ride. a buddy of mine has an ls/vtec setup in his hatch and that **** is fast as **** even when his vtec wasnt hooked up.

Re: (SpoolinEK9)
depends on the condition of the motor. my friend HAD an eg w/ ls motor and he beat me about 1/2 car length. i have a 98 ls. im 170 lbs but he had 2 passengers and he still beat me. obdi cars are a tad faster then obdii. tire size, how heave the driver all play a factor. you cant just say that the b18b is a bad motor becuase it has potential when you know what you are doing.

Re: (NA Integra)
Thanks for the info guys. I hope I like the motor when I get it. I just wanna be able to beat some b16 hatchies, and some gsr tegs.
How is this match up by the way a b18b eg hatch vs. a gsr in a teg body? Saying both driver are equal.
