Upgrading brakes on '98 Civic Dx
First off before I get ripped apart I did a search, but there were over 400 results and I could not find any clear specific information about what I need. If anyone can show me the thread that can help me that would be greatly appreciated.
Anyway...
I recently boosted my car and after a run in with a 911 Turbo and a modded WS6 I have come to reailze that the braking system on my '98 DX will not longer cut it.
I would like to upgrade my front rotors and do a rear disc conversion.
For the rear disc conversion I have found out that I can swap the components from any 'teg or 99-00 si. The components I will need are the lower control arms, rotors, calipers and pads.
I have found a rear disc conversion from passwordjdm.com and was planning on purchasing that for ~$180.
Now for the front I am sort of lost. I know I have the smallest rotors in the world cuz I have a DX. I would like to upgrade to the largest I can while being able to fit 15" rims.
What size rotors can I fit and what will I need to change to get them to work?
I would like to get Power Slot rotors for the front and rear once everything is set. Would these be necessary or could I use the used rotor I will recieve (depending on their condition)?
I've read that if I chage the size of the calipers I will need to swap my Master Cylinder for one from a '98 Integra. Is this correct?
I will also need a reapportioning valve from a 99-00 SI. Is this correct?
Finally does it depend on where I source the rear disc swap from to figure out what e-brake cable I will need? If so which ones will work.
I appreciate any time and effort for reading and answering my questions. Thanks!
