Default update! battery/ altenator problem

alright here is my original thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=733358

alright well last night in the freezing flurry weather i put in the brand new altenator, everything was tight and all bolts and grounds were connnected.jump started my car and i let it run for a few mins then disconnected the jumper cables and let in run for 5 mins ..slight revving and whatnot.turned it off and back on and started right up. moved my car into the driveway and parked it.very very cold all night then this morning i go to start it and it just clicks and doesnt turn over? is it possible i need to replace my battery too.should i of let it charge or drove around with new alternator longer or something? its an older battery, should i just buy a new one?what are your suggestions? anything would help me out right bout now.thanks everyone

Needs a battery, I had a very simliar problem.

Just check your ground wire and plug one last time to make sure nothing is loose.

Also when it is very cold sometimes the starter takes a few times to turn over....depending on the condition of your starter, dizzy....

Once you have installed everything just go to Autozone (if you don't know how to do it or don't feel like doing it...its cold) and have them test your system. It will let you know whether or not your system is charging.

sounds like your negative cable is slipping off. make sure the nut is tight.

I recently replaced my battery which was 3 years old cause i thought it was dead when I found later the starter was the trouble all along. pull it out and go have a shop test it
