Default uneven brake wear

I have a 2000 Sir (rear discs) and the drivers side rear brake is wearing out very quickly, while the passenger side is brand new. I changed the passanger side caliper in the rear because the piston would not turn back into the boar. The driver side piston seems ok (goes out and turns back in). The ebrake does not appear to be binding ( wheels spin free while jacked up). The wheel on the rear drivers side heats up and smells of burning brake. I am assuming that it is still burning the pad. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

is it both pads on that side, or just the outboard pad?? if the outboard pad is wearing quickly its most likely the caliper slides.

proportioning vavle controls front to rear, not side to side. slides, caliper, or parking brake. possibly hose, but doubtful.

if both pads wear evenly on that side the slides are working and chances are the caliper is just binding up.

most likely, yes, i cant say without having hands on for sure, but thats the most likely cause. if it were me i would disconnect the parking brake cable first and see if it changes.
