depends how u want it, mugen sounds like...quiet, louder than stock but definately not gonna get hassled by cops....spoon on the other hand..that lets people know ur coming, especially after the v-tec crossover, I'd go with the spoon

Oh yeah, I don't believe this is the ultimate question, it's been asked too many times to be "unique"

They are completely different, pretty much opposites.
The Mugen isn't much louder than stock.
The Spoon N1, like other N1-style "mufflers" is a bit loud (though not anywhere near as loud as an open header or a Buddy Club Spec II )

Why not get a tenzo R muffler? I don't see a point in getting either if your not going to be taking it to a road course track 24*7. Both are for heavily modified vehicles and are used to run laps at the tracks, not to driven around town. Hey no offense, I just don't see what your going to do besides brag about the mod.
If I had to choose I would go with Spoon, they are the better of the two tuners in Japan. Mugen isn't really around anywhere.

ya thats exaclty why i wana get a sppon cause i wana brag about it
i like spoon cause it looks stock, and sounds insane withou sounding like a tenzo r fart can. And id have to say that in my opinion mugen is probalby better then spoon. they got that whole formula 1 thing goin for them

I love my twin loop. Its on a 00 si and it sounds wonderful. its only a axle back cause they dont make a full exhaust for the coupe. and I was in love with it the moment i heard it..

Re: Ultimate Question. Spoon Vs Mugen (siguy4)
Yes, I do have a lot to learn. Mugen is just a Honda aftermarket tuning company. Just like Mazdaspeed is with Mazda, Nismo to Nissan, AMG to Mercedes. Their concept is to provide a person with the option to upgrade their vehicle (aimed at improving specific areas to better match a persons driving, while not taking away too much from the natural aesthetics of the original design of the factory vehicle [meaning not to go out of the way of adding on foreign parts ie. turbo on a Honda]). All of which helps to develop the car into a more comfortable, faster, well-balanced machine.
Seeing that both tuners have the same aim I would say that both are an equal choice. In my opinion I have seen more people go for the Spoon products when it comes to high performance race upgrades (track use) at Central Circuit.

Re: Ultimate Question. Spoon Vs Mugen (thahuhstunna)
imo get the spoon n1. i have the spoon n1 with t1r midpipe and it sounds amazing but if you're going to compare spoon to mugen you need to compare the spoon sports sport muffler to the mugen twin loop. both are quiet mufflers but cost twice as much as the n1

Re: Ultimate Question. Spoon Vs Mugen (AJR EJ8)
I own a mugen twin loop on my DC, and it's sounds good. I am not a fan of the fart can noise...I think it sounds to damn ricey, and fake! I have an Apexi N1 on my EG, and that is coming off, I get hasseled all the time because of it, I am fed up...so I am going to get a twin loop on my EG now, maybe not a Mugen, but a Hytec twin loop this time...it's cheaper...

Re: (Syndacate)
N1 is deep with a sporty tone, can get loud. Mugen is SUPER QUIET, like stock all you hear is the motor
both used CTR b-pipe, JDM 4-1, and Cat.
i vote for Spoon N1
