Default Is this twin loop made for an EG Hatch?

I have a twin loop on my EG hatch, but I don't think it was made for it. I was wondering if anyone can tell? I'm trying to run a rear sway bar from an LS and it hits the TL but I'm assuming this wouldn't be a problem if the twin loop were made for a hatch.

Uh. That looks universal to me. Not made for an EG hatch specifically.

Just saying. I don't think it matters now since it was grafted to that piping. I thought that these were complete axle back systems? Meaning they bolt right on. If this was made for that model why did it have to be welded to the piping?

In either case if it was model specific or universal it wouldn't stop you from the problems you're having.

They were cat back systems, but some people just sold the axle back portion which is how I got mine. I don't think it's made for EG since its welded, but the specific application changes the canister size from what I've read. So, if that is true, the specific application, does indirectly, cause or prevent the problem I'm having, as others have been able to run a rear sway. I am hoping to figure out what application it actually is in case I sell, or if it is a true eg hatch one figure out why I can't fit the rear sway.

based on those pics that doesn't look like it's a legit mugen muffler to me, more like the knock off that was selling on ebay a while back.
There are also no marks on the piping where Mugen attaches it's hangers.
Does the tip have the markings like grumblemarc's pic?

Hatch mufflers are significantly smaller than coupe/integra versions. If the can fits in the muffler area it's designed for the hatch.
I've tried both coupe and teg mufflers, they are not even close to fitting.

As to why your sway doesn't fit, adjust the hangers to make the muffler sit more rearward.

one other question/observation, how do you get that muffler/piping setup out of the car? Do you have to pull the rear right LCA?

If anything, the hangers are now in the wrong place.

It definitely is a legit Mugen twin loop, it has the plate, the jasma stamp, and the engraving on the tip, the pic is just bad and the muffler is just dirty. Those pics are from when I bought it, and yeah I had to pull the right rear LCA, but I did it when I was installing new suspension and LCAs anyway. I am going to have it sectioned properly soon.

I'll look into adjusting the hangers, assuming that picture is from a hatch twin loop then indeed the hangers are too far forward, I'll probably just have to have all the piping remade as well as it sits well right now but moving it farther back will tuck it too far under the bumper

All the pics I've seen look like that.

this is how I've seen a few, with the hanger welded to the loop not to the canister.

the one I had, had the hanger welded to the pipe. All though the location of the points for the rubber mounts is not that far off from the ones you have now.

Was it welded like the picture I posted above? Also, do you know if there is any truth to the application effecting canister size?

application effecting canister size, hatchback is roughly 2/3 to 1/2 the length of a coupe or integra.
there simply isn't room in the rear of a hatch for the larger canister.

maybe it's the angle of the pic, the outer mount doesn't look right.
better pic

I've seen that pic, I just wasn't sure if that was the hatch muffler. The pic you posted looks like the size of mine, but the pic I posted looks smaller, was your TL the same same size as mine?

The original picture might be a legit Mugen TL muffler but the piping looks like crush bent piping made at a shop.

OP stated only muffler is mugen. rest is obvious crap by compare.

the can size on your muffler looks about the same as the one I had. I don't have it anymore or I'd measure it for you.

size compare, This was early on in my current Hytech setup, I know it's not Mugen but it gives you an idea of the difference in can sizes.
My Mugen was almost identical in size as the lower one in the pic.
integra vs hatch

Ok thanks, so then its a possiblity that the hangers are causing the problem, and I do have a hatch one, maybe its just me but the pic that was posted by marc, seem close to mine as well, but that one is an integra muffler, I haven't been able to find definite measurements to put it to rest though.

To me the pic posted by marc looks more like it's for a civic coupe than an integra. The longer pipe section before the bend to clear the LCA, all though that could be the angle of the pic. It always amazes me how easily camera angles fool the eye.

If I remember right the pipe length from the rear of the loop to the downward bend is slightly over 12", it's been a while so I don't remember for sure.
I need to pull my muffler to repaint it anyway, I can take measurements or pics if it would help you out.

Yeah thanks that would be cool, I just say that the pic Marc posted is from an Integra because thats how it was posted from password JDM's website https://passwordjdm.com/sitemap/p/Mu...tegra-2207.htm

but they maybe have used a different pic, I'm not really sure. Regardless, thanks for the help on getting to the bottom of this.

I did a Google image search for Mugen twin loops for a Civic and picked the image that closely matched yours BUT the description of the image actually does say "Mugen Twin Loop Sports Exhaust System for DC2 Integra".
