Default THis Turbo Setup worth it?

i'm just debating whether or not to buy my buddies setup, IMO it's a very good price, here's my situation

my car is a 92 DX, it has 264,000km's but body is mint.

buddy is willing to sell me his 93 SI engine, with 140,000km's and a Turbonetics Turbo setup HKS SSQ BOV, all the piping, wires, and Computer which is a very nice setup on this SOHC motor for 1800$

i wont have to pay basically anything to install it, and i'm getting his tranny as well.

Riding in this car [which is a 93 Coupe] me and him have beaten GSR hatches running 6psi

would u do it?

well you could make your own turbo kit for 800 running a chipped ecu, 400 for a z6 swap, and your tranny is fine, thats like 1200 at the most... i probably wouldn't do it, but it all depends on if ya got money to burn, sure its probably an expensive turbo kit, but you don't need a name, just good parts

it's pretty much a custom setup other than the turbo...

but the thing is, i NEED the engine as well, i'm not gonna run the turbo on a DX motor with 240,000km's that burns oil lol

yeah, the $1800 CAD includes the 400 for the engine. I say it's a good deal... go for it! Cheaper than buying a B-series, and easier.

yea hopefully get it for even cheaper, and it will only be like a 1 day swap, so it should be all good

You can't hope for the best without planning for the worst. Expect an extra day at least for problem solving. My $.02.
