Default turbo question

about how much pounds of boost could i run without blowing it up with 8.5:1 compression pistons, a block guard, and decently-good rods?

Basically, yeah.

Not only does the engine matter as different bottom ends are stronger than others, but "decently-good rods" means absolute ****. What are they rated to? What the hell are they?

Also, don't measure things by lbs, it's a bad alleyway to go down. Measure it by HP, different turbos mean that different psi is different power. X PSI means **** w/o knowing what kind of turbo it is.

Without knowing the turbo, the type of aftermarket parts, or the engine, it's physically impossible for somebody to give you ANY data besides "Make sure you get it tuned."

.

More info please. Also, the forced induction forum is where to go about turbo related questions. Go there.

Though just like here, they'll need more info to help you correctly. Nobody can do anything with the shady *** info you gave us. Also, like I said, go for HP goals, psi is just a side effect, going for X PSI is a stupid way to go about it.

^^^ no way he can run that much boost without upgrading his muffler bearings... He would blow the exhaust system right off the block!
