Re: turbo problem (SE7EN3S)
i don't have any pictures but i took the filter of the turbo it self and there is oil inside the turbo and it looks like the turbo put oil into the intake side and ran it through the intercooler piping and put it into my motor. i just can't figure out how the oil got on the intake side in the first place.
thanks

Just one??! Do you know if it is a return line or feed line?
I could be wrong, but I was kinda under the impression that oil feed turbo's would have both a in and out line...?

Look at your oil pan youll see another line from there going into the turbo.
Was there a hose of any kind in your filter arm or was it just the filter on the compressor side?
Could be that your seals are starting to leak. How much oil is there? Ive had this small problem but it was minimum oil that leaked through. But if its alot of oil i would get it checked.

the car no longer runs, i puled the plugs and there is oil all over them i also checked the charge piping and its clean. when i pulled of the charge piping of the throttle body the intake manifold had what looks like oil caked on the walls inside of it.

Re: turbo problem (SE7EN3S)
i believe the problem is that the seals in the turbo are gone...and oil is leaking thru there...coating the plugs...causing oil to come out of the exhaust etc.
how would not having a hose from the vc breather to the inlet pipe cause this sort of problem?
there is just a filter capping off the vc breather as of now

Re: turbo problem (grnhatch94)
well can u tell me what kind of turbo it is,if its 1 of those ssauto crome crap then u should just buy a new turbo.im guessing sense u dont seem to know much about ur setup that u just got the car.what i would do is find out what kind of turbo it is first, then if it is 1 of the ssautochrome 1s then just clean everything and try to start her again.those turbos leak as soon as u put them on ,im sure that the previous owner didnt clean the charge pipe at all so theres oil caked on the intake.if on the other hand if its a hks or other good name brand then see how much it would cost to rebuild it. ive owned 2 of those ssautochrome turbos so i know what im talking about ssac turbos work fine if ur a analretentive clean freak but im not so i got apexi

Re: turbo problem (nekoabandoned)
It is an xs power turbo and your right i just got the car about a month ago.
The only problem that I have been running in to is I have a costum downpipe and a good manifold but I don't have the funds to buy a completely new setup. I have had trouble finding a new turbo that fits with my current setup.
thanks for your help

it is not a small oil leak...i would say it leaked about 1.5-2 quarts just idleing for a few minutes out of the exhaust side of the turbo!!!
i do not think cleaning the charge pipes and going will solve any problem. i am 99% sure the turbo needs to be rebuilt (i.e. new seals and what not) or just a new turbo purchased all together.

you have a feed line, but no return line comming from the bottom of the turbo back into the oil pan?

Damn... all those answer... Replace the turbo, then go to the Forced Induction or FI section and read, then read somemore, then hopefully you wont blow up your new turbo.

Re: turbo problem (fastrunner)
look on ebay buy a turbo for $100 like a off of a 3000gt,take it to a shop and get them to make u a plate that will allow u to mount the turbo to the manifold. and is it true that u dont have a return line because thats kind of impossible, unless either ur dumb or maybe the return line blew off

Re: turbo problem (SPNFEDEJ)
yea all those answers
if its a oil lubricated turbo, it has a return line.
if it dosent, the turbo will blow a SHITTON of oil past the seals.
why? because of oil pressure. the oil is hitting a block at the tubo, wich is wrong, then its forcing its way out of the seals because it needs a return line. it sounds like someone plugged the return line.
