Turbo d16 or b16!?!?
I have a 97 ex and I want more power then i/h/e can give me. Does anyone one know how much more I can get with cams, fuel rail, and a fuel intake manifold or am I better with a swap or turbo?

indeed, turbo the d16. you will make way more power. even if you only turbo'd the d series to get the same hp as the b16, you would make way more torque than the b series.

You can turbo the D blow it up, and get a new block for say $200 vs alot more for a B.
Over all the B has more potential, but the D, done right is cheaper, from the start.
So I would say boost that D.

Turbo D. Finally fixed all my boost leaks and got a working BOV on today. It feels so good to have a car actually push you back into the seats. I ******* love it, and that's only 8psi from a little TD04.

I thought a B16 was a part of the B-series family. When did this change?

He was saying it'll beat B16s, not all B series motors.

I know/saw what he said. *sigh* Its hard to show sarcasm through typed words. Anyway, I am saying what I am saying because it will not beat every B16. Well it depends on mods of both cars.

Ok. I just didn't see stock when you mentioned walking a B16.

Re: (teamvirus)
Just swap, costs about the same and you'll have something more to do to it later on if you want. Turbo B series will walk ANY d series (and I do mean any )

if you read this, please pm me or email me @ howitshallbe@msn.com, this stupid trial user thing wont let me do ANYTHING. i was wondering what d series you turboed at 8 psi. i have the d15b7, and i just bought a td05h turbo, starting to piece my HMT kit together. thanks.

Re: (19civiclx95)
yeah stock b16's are bad at low end and high end torque for that matter. even the b16a only has like 116 ft lbs of torque and i think thats at around 6500 rpms. thats only 10 more ft lbs than a stock d16z6 (i know you have the y8, but i like 5th generations) and well over $1000 difference for complete swaps. so if you already have the d....

Re: (19civiclx95)
Turbo the D16.. and if done right, it WILL walk your average B-series swapped Hondas for a much lower cost. I've been turbo for a lil over a year now and it still runs strong. Here's proof of it: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1373918
