Default Trying to drum up interest in urethane Spoon-like front spoiler for EG

I'm sure I'm not the only person who likes how the Spoon CF splitter for the EG Civic looks.

Pics:

Actual Spoon product:

Fiber Images' copy:

Benen's copy:

However, cost and the inevitable abuse this piece would see makes me wish someone would make one in urethane.
So, let's see if we can get someboday to make one!

I don't know if anyone on this board has the means to do this but there are two companies that do. Here is their contact info. Please take the time to let them know that there is a demand for this.

WW Contact Form:

Tsunami Contact Addy:
info@tsunami1.com

Thanks,
Jesse

How much is it for the Fiberimages one? I know the spoon one is around 500 dollars.

How about a fiberglass piece? I picked one up in LA for $150...forgot the name of the shop, some hole in the wall place but they are straight and you cant beat the price for something you know is going to take alot of driveway abuse. Just krylon it (semi-glass) black and your good to go. If someone steals it or it cracks/breaks wont hurt as much as spending $400+ for a cf piece.

I just got a quote from the FI one:

$500 shipped to my door.

That's a bit high, no?

Also, the Benen lip can be had for $379. This is according to http://www.benen.com/products/body/front_lip.html. They have a Kevlar one as well but no pricing info on the site.

Hence this post! Seriously, I think if enough people express their interest to WW or Tsunami, they might look in to producing a urethane version for a reasonable amount of money.

Hmmm, do you have any pics of this? This might be a viable alternative to a CF lip. $150 is more than reasonable, although I'd still rather have a urethane one. Urethane would last alot longer, and you know you'd be scraping this thing on all sorts of stuff.

Note, even if you don't want to take the time to contact WW or Tsunami, at least chime in on this thread. I'm giving both companies this URL so that they can see what sort of interest there is.

Thanks...

I'd think that uerethane would be the only sensible choice for this type of piece. Fiberglass wouldn't last too long.

I don't know who would pay $500 for a Fiber Images piece if a Spoon piece can be had for $400...

If a urethane piece were possible for $200-250, there would be colossal interest.

$500 from fiber images? I would take a Spoon Lip over a FI one anyday. Its weird how the imitation is more expensive than the real thing.

you pay for what yo get. Spoon costs is all in the name and reputation. Benen took a good product and made it better. Durability is the key with a part in that location. If you want cheap, cheap can be had. But how many are you going to buy to keep a good product on your car. just my 2 cents.

If you got a fiber images front spoiler you can tell everyone its spoon, hell no one can tell the difference. its a poor man's jdm styling. hahahaha

this is very true. Spoon and Fiber Images=carbon-fiber matting a little fiberglass resin+ 1 bump= 1 shattered ugly mess.

Exactly, durability is the key to this part and nothing can touch the durability of urethane. Get in touch with WW and/or Tsunami!
