I don't know anything about the b18b. I guess I should go look it up.
I do like working on SOHC though.. It's fun to play with.
The B18 isn't VTEC is it?

Re: Trashed Motor. What to do now? (xfletcherxx)
I can't seem to find much information on the B18B Motor. Can anyone direct me to some good resource sites?
If not, how does it match up to the D16Z6? Better? Worse? Pros? Cons?

Re: (e9)
Where can I find a B18.. Do they come in any cars I may find in a junkyard? I need something I can get my hands on pretty quick. Will it direct swap into my car, or am I gonna have to do some modding?

Re: (siregcivic)
How about you pick the motor you want...and your friend pay for it??? Remember he fucked up your Z6. Probably wouldn't happen though .
Anyway I have a B18B1 sittin in my shop..getting ready to put it in my 93 civic ex coupe. I got the long block for 500$. I can't wait to get it in. The D16Z6 is a great motor in my opinion but for that price on EBAY you can do better. I think most D15B VTEC motors go for around 400 to 450 for the Long Block with the Suposedly 30k-40k mile garuntee. Hunt around and try not to get in a really big hurry. Hard to do but when you rush something it usually in someway shape or form comes back and bites you right in the *** later down the road. I am only 20 years old and have learned this the hardway to many times...seems as if somethings I can never learn.
We all get impatient though don't we .

well the b18b can be found in the 94-01 integra LS GS RS i dont believe that it will directly swap into your car...not sure correct me if im wrong...but your gonna need mounts, wire harness, and ecu for that motor....g'luck tho...im going to be swapping pretty soon as well...just not sure what heart i should go with....

Re: (SLoWpOkECiViC)
Im sure you already know, but going from SOHC to DOHC is going to take some money. Mounts, axles, motor, tranny, etc etc. If you just want to get your car back on the road, just get another SOHC.

you could get another d16 or a jdmd15b for less than you can get a b18 longblock. AND you already have the tranny, ecu etc. so get another D for a couple hundred or a B for a couple grand. your choice.

Re: (racerpat94)
Id buy the blown motor if it was here in FL....
Why not rebuild? some eagle rods, low comp. pistons, and ARP head stud, and boost it...
oh well... good luck...
