i was on my way home from work today and i turned a corner and mildly accelerated and i hurd this loud *** pop. my clutch pettle lost all pressure and it was hard as hell to get my car into gear. i thought i just lost the slave cylinder but i changed that tonight and bled it and its not any better. i have a 00 si with act street disc and pressure plate, and flywheel, i am wondering if you guys could help at all thanks..

how exactly did you go about bleeding it? what does it feel like driving now? engagement point changed any? does it jerk the car when you let off clutch after changing gears now even driving normally? is the clutch fork in tact? its possible you broke a spring in your disc , or your pressure plate springs have failed , although its seems odd givin the fact its an ACT clutch. any noises at all now? idling or driving?

i bled it by compressing the slave while bleeding it then tightening the bleeder screw then un compressing several times to get rid of the air.. it feels way different now the engagement point is alot higher. and the clutch feels week it makes a little noise like a squeeling squeeking noise while idling.. the clutch doesnt jerk at all i can down shift and just dump the clutch and it doesnt jerk or catch hard like it should...

no i dont have any leaks.. i have looked everywhere, and the fluid level isnt going down.. im really confused.

Master cylinder rod probly snapped, if you undid the bleed screw and fluid shot out but you still have no clutch pressure then it is in the hydrolic loop system. The part is the only one to cause a loss of pressure without leakage, you may have a slight amount of fluid in the interior (very slight amount). Get behind your clutch pedal and make sure that rod a lil tug.

would that cause the ingagement poing to change? ill have to check behind the clutch pedal in the morning..

heres what you need to do. get a clear bottle , fill it with brake fluid. hook a rubber line on the bleeder screw and the other of the rubber line has to stay submerged in the fluid. crack the bleeder screw , leave it open this whole time and start pumping the peddle , youl see air bubbles comming out of the rubber line which again , has to stay submerged. keep doing it till no more air is left for sure. tighten the bleeder. do that and than see what happens.

sounds like a pedal bracket have not seen many with the hydro clutch but seen some. check at the pedel bracket and see if any cracks or bent assy.

well i bled the line like you said theres no air in it but its still shitty. it still wont go into gear when the car is on.. the pedal gets soft and takes forever to build any pressure and as soon as i do it all goes away.... anyother suggestions?

i dont know how that can be i just changed the clutch i put in an act clutch and heavy duty pressure plate like 6,000 miles ago.... my dad thinks its the master cylinder... so i guess im going to change that and if thats not it ill change the pressure plate again... thanks for the help guys

Hi, I under stand that you put in the cluch not to long a go. Did you brake in the cluch for about at lease 500mile. I am the king at blowing out cluchs. I'll tell you this, it is not your master or your sleave cylinder. Sorry to tell you, you going to have to drop your trans down. You are going to need a new pp. I'm pritty shur you blow it out. But first does the sleave cylinder rod move in and out when pressing and releasing the cluch? If it does, it's not your master or sleave cylinder. I'm pritty shur you beed it rite. Someone befor me is rite, p/p or c/d spring is bad or the throw out bearing broke.

dont listen to this , if its brand new its not the pressure plate. are you sure you bled it exactly like i told you too?

ya i did exactly what you said... my dad even had a tool for that its a cup with an inlet hose (on the bleeder screw and one in the cup) and one for the excess fluid and i bled it for 15 minutes.. i ordered a master cylinder today becasue i dont know what else it could be...

Sounds like its the master cylindar itself, may not be sealed correctly, but not so bad enough that it would leak fluid. I have had a problem where i was constantly losing pressure, but there was no fluid leaked anywhere. Turns out that the M/C had gone faulty and was not sealing correctly.
