Transtop advice needed
Trying to help my son while he is a work. He recently imported a neat little SIR DS from Japan (we're in the US) with a transtop. He's had the car for about a month and the transtop worked properly until yesterday.
Yesterday: Trunk lift would not go down after putting the top back into position on top of the car. Tried using the key in the trunk lock but it still wouldn't go down. He used the manual crank to lower it but the dashboard display showed that it was not latched. Also, the power side windows would not raise.
Today: We disconnected the battery for 10 minutes. After reconnecting the battery, the dashboard display showed that the trunk wasn't latched. I verified that it wasn't latched by grabbing the trailing edge of the trunk and was able to lift it slightly. Pressing the dashboard switch would not move it. It would, however raise and lower using the key in the trunk lock. It latched properly every time we tried it with the key and the power windows worked properly. So we started the automatic removal procedure:
- Engine on
- E-brake on and verified with the dashboard light
- Unlatched the left and right side latches
- Hit the "remove" button and nothing happens other than beeps - it's supposed to drop the side windows, then raise the trunk lid.
Troubleshooting efforts:
- Put the side windows down first, then tried to the automatic removal procedure again and the trunk lid did not raise.
- Verified each side latch switch was working independently by starting with both in latched position, then unlatching them one at a time. We got the correct warning chime when either the left or the right or both were unlatched and the "remove" button was pushed.
Any and all advice is appreciated.

Re: Transtop advice needed
Does the car beep as soon as you un-latch the roof, if not the problem is in the contact switches in the main hoop mine did the same thing I replaced those switches and now it rolled the windows down lifted the trunk and got stuck there 🤦🏻*♂️. Start by opening one latch if it beeps that one is good repeat on the other side. If no beep there’s your problem

FYI - there are about 100 owners in the same situation, look at their complaints, hope Honda comes back with a recall
