Default tranny question

i was just thinking of something when i was at work ... i have a couple of buddies that can change gear ratios on a tranny. now my question is, say i have a dx tranny can i change the gear ratios on it to the ex tranny ratio's??? if yes... will i basically have an ex tranny?? thanks for your help and responses

Yes, you can have a combination of gearing. But the EX gearing is better hands down, unless you want the best gas mileage. Even then you have the CX or VX trannies that can do that.
