tranny from junk yard

tranny from junk yard
i just got a tranny from the junkyard and was told it was a 95 ls tranyn 5spd it was really clean and still has the vin tag on it is there a way i can find out really what car it came out of it doesnt feel like an ls tranny anything on the tranny itself to tell the difference thanks alot for any suggestions.

if the gears aren't short, thn it's a ls tranny. anything else has shorter gears and is quite noticable. not to mention, if the guy knows what a ls tranny is, he's not going to sell you anything else. you would notice a difference in price had he.
