Default tranny grind

when i shift into 5th going 65mph or over, it grinds on its way in. it doesnt do it when im shifting into it below 60mph. does this mean i need new syncros for 5th? not only that, its gotten worse to the point where im driving in 5th going a little over 60 mph and all of a sudden, it falls outa gear. i literally have to hold it in 5th for it to stay in and not fall out. if im going under 60 its ok SOMETIMES. somone help me out. anyone know what prices im looking at to get it fixed?

The popping out of 5th usually points to a bent shift fork. Common problem is for people to have their tranny's pop out of 2nd gear, and often times the synchros are often shot as well. End result is usually a bent shift fork and, like I said, the synchros are often shot as well.

???????????????????????????????????????????????? is all I have to say
A bad clutch wouldent make it pop out of gear, it would prevent it from going into our out of gear.

Try some Gm synco mesh first that seems to help a lot of people with worn syncro's and gears I belive you want the friction modified stuff but I may be mistaken on the friction moddified part.

yea that syncro mesh **** is like a bandade it works for a little while. and about 85% of the time its not the syncro thats the problem. its the blocking ring, which is on the end of the syncro gear itself. and don't use that friction modifier unless u want to tear more **** up than u already have.
